The Green Ring

The green ring is known to the heroes from a single source: the vision granted them in the Crucible, and the words of the figure who calls himself Dalfon. In the vision it hung in the air above a plinth, a band of what seemed carved green jade, while fine golden threads drifted around it and, one by one, passed through its centre. It is shaped not as a plain circle but as an eye, or the iris of an eye, the opening at its heart set where a pupil would be.

Dalfon names it a relic of great power and greater danger, sought by people who must not be allowed to hold it, and he has set the heroes to find the temple to which it is bound. Magmaw, burning a small offering at the obelisk, was granted a vision of his own: the ring cracking, orange light spilling from the breaks in it, and then a vast and final detonation. Whatever the green ring is, it does not appear to be a thing meant to be kept.
