Class
Troubador
Summary:
A dramatic hero who fuels abilities with Drama, gained from bold moments and emotional swings. Supports allies with inspiring routines and risky appeals to the Muses. Subclasses: Duellist, Virtuoso, and Auteur, each shaping the story in unique ways. Think Inigo Montoya; not quite a fighter, not quite a tactician, but here to make a good story. Closest to a bard class. Especially distinct in subclasses. A marmite class.
Heroic Resource: Drama
Gain 1D3 at start of their turn
Gain it when dramatic things happen; there’s a list of different dramatic things that give you drama, for example when someone gets a crit, or someone dies, so can be tough to keep track sometimes.
Theoretically if enough people die, and you die, it might even give you enough drama to bring yourself back to life.
Can appeal to muses for more drama, but it could go wrong and give DM malice.
You have routines, similar to auras- effect at start of round, like speed up allies, or allow healing stamina.
Subclasses:
- Duellist - swordplay and acrobatics. Reposte when attacked; make selves the star of the show and enhance abilities.
- Virtuoso - classic musician/bard. Change the world through music. Strike a chord to daze people, and other effects.
- Auteur - most controversial. Can “change the way things happened”. Can intervene sometimes, for example, change where your starting positions were, retroactively.
