The Lower Collection

The Great Library's restricted holdings, kept apart from the open shelves and from the supervised reference rooms above them. It admits few readers, and those briefly, under the eye of an attendant who stays for the whole of the visit. Its deposits are held on their depositors' terms, and a depositor's standing instruction outranks a reader's need.
